The costume almost disappears. That’s exactly its job.
Made for “Uncomfortable”, a short performance of my own. In this very reduced piece without travelling through space, the costume takes on a choreographic function: it extends the performer’s silhouette into the unnatural, grounds it visually on the floor and directs all attention to back, skin and micro-movement. The costume carries the aesthetic of the piece by almost disappearing.
