My role Performance
Three bodies. Three steel ladders. No room for ego.
Three performers, three larger-than-life steel ladders – and gravity everywhere. Six Pieces negotiates the reality of human cooperation: what we can achieve alone, what we can only achieve together, and the value of cooperation itself.
In this piece the steel ladders are not props but fellow performers – objects that become both boundary and partner. The work is physically uncompromising: the performers act in genuinely risky situations in which they have to rely on each other completely – communicating clearly, protecting and supporting one another, judging their own limits and abilities maturely, without ever shying away from pushing them. There is no room for ego, vagueness or hesitation.

Six Pieces is a spin-off of The Pieces, the production by Shayna Swanson’s company, and develops its central ideas further for three performers.
My role in the piece
I perform as one of three performers – in a piece that demands complete physical presence, mutual trust and the immediate translation of directing impulses into physical material. Accompanied by live music, the material emerges in an ensemble where every movement depends on the reliability of the others.
